Episcopal schools exist not only to educate, but to demonstrate and proclaim the unique worth and beauty of all human beings as creations of a loving, empowering God.

Episcopal schools are founded to be communities that honor, celebrate, and worship God as the center of life while embracing faith and reason as pathways to true understanding. As a parish day school, St. Stephen’s was established to provide educational excellence within the context of Christian mission and social responsibility.

At St. Stephen’s, our Mission Statement, School Creed, and Core Values reflect the core tenets of Episcopal Identity. These principles are deeply integrated into the daily life of the school, creating a strong foundation of Christian love that guides and inspires students to lead lives of genuine meaning, purpose, and service.

As the largest and most diverse ministry of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the school holds a weekly chapel service to honor its Episcopal identity and founding values. Chapel is a meaningful teaching and learning opportunity where students are at the center of the experience, guided by the Rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Additionally, students in 6th through 8th grades participate in weekly Religious Education classes.

In the tradition of Episcopal schools, St. Stephen’s is unapologetically Episcopal, emphasizing Anglican rituals, open-mindedness, tolerance, peaceful conflict resolution, appreciation for spiritual diversity, and a global perspective. This commitment helps students grow in their understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them.
