CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:

HEAD OF SCHOOL

St. Stephen’s is seeking a Head of School for the 2019-2020 academic year (typically 240 days, beginning July 1,

2019) and beyond to grow our student population and community impact, and to positively contribute to the ongoing success of

our Wimberley area School. Our school supports all surrounding communities, including Kyle, Buda, Dripping Springs, San Marcos, and Wimberley, Texas.

The Head of School serves as the principal administrator of staff and student body, PreK3 – 6th grade, on the

School and Church’s 52-acre campus. They are the sole employee of the board of trustees and are responsible

for the overall management of the school, in accordance with the board’s policies.

The mission of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School is to empower each student to live authentically, think

expansively, and serve selflessly. The Head of School embodies the mission of the school, and provides the leadership

necessary to ensure this mission is accomplished. The head of school has ultimate and overall responsibility for

board relations, curriculum and instruction, student life, business affairs, admission and advancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum 2 years teaching in an elementary school setting

  • Valid Teaching Certification

  • Minimum of 3 years Administrative experience, either as Assistant Principal/Head of School or Principal/Head of School
