We’re proud to offer diverse learning opportunities and an encouraging, welcoming environment in Early Childhood Education through Middle School. Located in Wimberley, Texas, our families come from all of the surrounding areas to create a joyful school environment for both students, families, and faculty and staff. It’s great to be an SSES Bulldog!
Serving students and families aged 18 months through 4 years, it’s an honor to begin the educational journey with our young families. We have a strong Early Childhood program at SSES that continues to grow! Our curriculum for Infant through Four-Year-Old classes will be an adaptation of Mother Goose Time, Early Childhood Education which follows the guidelines for Texas Early Childhood Guidelines. Students will learn through teacher-led, hands-on activities that will nurture relationships, offer structured play and will invite students to explore through sensory rich activities, art, games and dramatic play. Students will have opportunities to explore their imaginations, investigate the world around them and problem-solve new challenges.
From Kindergarten through 5th grade, our Lower School brings the spirit to SSES. The lower school program cultivates curiosity, confidence, problem- solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning in a motivating and nurturing environment. The program combines traditional learning with collaborative and innovative instruction to ensure mastery of basic skills while also challenging students to think more deeply and creatively.
Lower school students attend chapel two times a week and participate in a once a week Religious Education class. They also participate in the following co-curricular classes: music, art, Spanish, physical education, STEAM, library, garden and robotics/technology.
We blend traditional curriculum and innovative learning activities within a structured setting, helping students to balance freedom and responsibility as they navigate the exciting passage into young adulthood. Within the context of our academically accelerated program, teachers impart the principles of integrity, courtesy, and service to others through classroom instruction and group projects. Middle school students enjoy co-curricular classes of art, music, Spanish, physical education, archery, debate/speech and MakerSpace. Our MakerSpace is made up of 3D printers, Coding and a Glowforge.
Through a foundation of chapel services, our community reaffirms our faith weekly. Our weekly chapel services in our lower and middle school use a liturgy and style that is crafted to support worship for the grades that are participating during these sacred times. One of the most outward and visible signs of our Episcopal identity is seen in our daily worship and is reflective of our lasting mission together with our parent congregation, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Honoring our Episcopal Identity, we welcome students from all races, ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds.
